Selkirk Rex ~ the cat in sheep's clothing
Triple Grand Champion Insider Alwin of Sarikakings
The Selkirk Rex, "the cat in sheep's clothing, is a relatively new breed only arriving in the UK in 2002.
They are very similar in type and shape to the British Shorthair but with this amazing temperament, they really do love you, they will roll over to have their tummy tickled and just want to be with you. They purr constantly and will follow you around attention, they come in all sorts of colours, and both longhaired and shorthaired, and a lovely soft curly coat. We also sometimes have variant kittens (straighthair).
As a new breed and outcrossing is still allowed, we try to outcross on most of our matings to help improve the gene pool. With this in mind, we often keep boys just to have the odd litter which are then neutered and found their forever very spolit pet home.
Our aim is to breed beautiful curly cats in long or shorthaired in Lilac goldens and chocolate in self, colourpoints, bi points and tabby points. We do however also occasionally have blues, creams, red and silver related colours. |
